Our Cake Flavors & Suggested Pairings


Basic Cake Flavors: 

Chocolate
A rich, moist cake made with a high-quality, dark cocoa powder. It is infused with a bit of espresso, which brings out the intense chocolate flavor. It is not overly sweet, so it pairs wonderfully with any of the following fillings: peanut butter cream, raspberry cream, mocha cream, cookies & cream, or chocolate cream.

Butter Vanilla (aka "yellow cake" or "butter cake")
Rich in flavor, this cake is made with fresh butter, whole eggs, vanillas from two different regions, along with vanilla bean seeds from Madagascar. The texture is moist and firm (not too dense; not too light) with a medium crumb that melts in your mouth. This flavor is our best-seller. It is excellent with any of our fruit fillings (jam or cream).

Almond (aka "bride's cake or "white cake")
This cake is lighter in color because it is made with fresh egg whites and oil. It is infused with a pure almond extract along with a Tahitian vanilla extract. Our mocha filling pairs very well with the almond flavor in this cake. But it's also great with any of our fruit fillings. 


Special Cake Flavors: 

Marble
This is our signature butter vanilla cake swirled with pockets of our rich dark chocolate cake. It is moist and the perfect choice for those who can’t decide between chocolate and vanilla. Favorite filling choices for this flavor are chocolate cream, caramel cream, and mocha cream.
PLEASE NOTE: This flavor is for cakes only; we do not make marble cupcakes.

Chocolate Chip
This is our butter vanilla cake with loads of mini chocolate chips baked in. It reminds us of eating a soft, fresh-baked, buttery chocolate chip cookie. Caramel cream and/or vanilla bean buttercream are perfect with this cake. 

Red Velvet
This cake has a mild, but satisfying cocoa flavor with the perfect balance of sweet and slightly tangy notes that classic red velvet is known for. It is made using a high-quality cocoa from Holland. It has a light texture and is wonderful when paired with our Bailey's cream filling, champagne cream, or vanilla bean buttercream. 

Lemon
A moist, buttery cake with a tart lemon flavor. You will see the lemon zest throughout this cake, and although it is a "comfort food" type of dessert, the pleasant citrus flavor makes it a refreshing choice to serve after a heavy meal. We highly recommend pairing this cake with our raspberry filling (either the jam or the cream). Other fillings worth considering: lemon cream, strawberry cream, and coconut cream.


Premium Cake Flavors: 

Strawberry
A delicately-textured cake with summery, strawberry flavor. Fresh strawberry puree is infused into the batter. It's lovely and comforting with our vanilla bean buttercream, but it's also amazing with our strawberry cream filling!

Carrot
This cake is so moist and delicious - made with finely shredded organic carrots, it is also infused with orange juice and grated apple. I suggest pairing it with our vanilla bean buttercream. (Note: there are no nuts or raisins in this cake.)

Banana
Moist and rich, classic banana cake like Grandma used to make. Everyone raves about how moist this cake is! Excellent with our vanilla bean buttercream. Also very good with our caramel cream filling! (There are no nuts in this cake.)

Coconut
A buttery cake loaded with coconut flavor, with shredded coconut baked in. Coconut cream filling is the best choice for this cake if you are a lover of coconut! Some other fillings to consider pairing with this cake: lemon cream, caramel cream, or chocolate cream.

Pumpkin Spice
A moist pumpkin cake spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and a pinch of cloves. Filling choices to consider for this one: caramel cream, cinnamon-spiced buttercream, or our signature vanilla bean buttercream.

Cinnamon Oatmeal
Reminiscent of a soft, moist oatmeal cookie, freshly-baked and spiced with a touch of Vietnamese cinnamon, this cake is pure comfort food! A great choice for the fall and winter months! It is also an excellent choice if your event is being held as a brunch! My filling recommendations for this one are: maple cream, cinnamon-spiced buttercream, and our signature vanilla bean buttercream.

Cake Icings


Our Signature Icing: (Always Included)
  • Vanilla Bean Swiss Meringue - This is our signature buttercream icing that we use to frost our cakes. It is made with real butter and infused with our secret blend of vanillas from three different regions. It is whipped until light and smooth, and it is not overly sweet. It can also be used as a filling for your cake.

Other Icings: (Additional Cost)
  • Chocolate Swiss Meringue Buttercream 
  • Fondant - cost varies depending on color; please inquire. We use a very high-quality fondant imported from Switzerland. It has a mild vanilla-marshmallow taste. (We have tried many brands of fondant over the years and have even made our own; however, none of them tastes as good as this fondant made by the Swiss!)
  • Ganache - special order as a filling, icing, or drip; please inquire. *Note - we generally do not have ganache on hand for tastings.
